Bishop Checchio, Diocese of Metuchen, William “Bill” and Carolyn Mascharka, Frazier, and John Kelly, Hope Through Education, during the opening day of the STEM Welding Space at STAHS.
St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STAHS)in Edison, NJ, is taking hands-on learning to the next level with the introduction of welding into its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program. This exciting expansion was made possible through assistance of Hope Through Education, an organization committed to empowering students through education. Frazier was happy to participate with the generous support of our CEO, William “Bill” Mascharka.
At the heart of this initiative are state-of-the-art, industrial-grade welding stations, now a permanent fixture in the school’s STEM Lab. These industry-level stations provide students with real-world, practical experience, equipping them with valuable skills that will give them a competitive edge in both college and future careers. “We believe hands-on learning is essential in preparing students for success beyond the classroom,” commented Bill Mascharka.
Frazier has also volunteered to provide a Welding Expert/Inspector, James “Wes” Warden from their Quality Control Group, to mentor the STAHS students afterschool. Today, the students are working on building out a Go-Cart!
Harry Ziegler, STAHS Principal, praised the program stating, “This initiative represents our commitment to innovation in education. By bringing industry-level welding technology into our STEM Lab, we’re giving students an opportunity to gain invaluable experience that will set them apart in college and the workforce”.
Frazier is excited to be a part of this opportunity to further education, in providing future trades development to support younger generations. Students at STAHS and beyond are the future in the global community.
